What factors promote peace and what actions are justified to achieve it? Join us as we discuss the history, ethics, and politics of peace.
Peace is highly valued, but how is it achieved? Why are some periods in world history relatively peaceful compared to others? What can we, as ordinary citizens, do to promote peace? Is pacifism a justified response to war? What are we justified in doing to ensure peace?
Louise Arimatsu (@larimatsu10) is Distinguished Policy Fellow in the Centre for Women, Peace and Security at LSE, where she works on the AHRC project 'A Feminist International Law of Peace and Security' and the ERC project 'Gendered Peace'. Her current research projects include 'A Feminist Foreign Policy' and 'Women and Weapons'. Louise is an alumna of LSE.
Robin Dunford is Principal Lecturer at the Centre for Spatial, Environmental and Cultural Politics, University of Brighton.
