Careers in Genealogy: Recording Information and Client Report Writing

Many people make the move from researching their own family history to carrying out professional research. However, they find it difficult to write a genealogy research report to a professional standard. This half-day workshop, with Karen Cummings, has two sessions:

Session 1 Recording Research and Producing a Pedigree
Karen covers what information to record as you conduct your research, how to record searches accurately, and how to construct source citations. She also discusses how to build a pedigree chart as you go along.

Session 2 Writing a Professional Genealogy Research Report
Karen turns to how to create your final report. She uses examples and considers style, layout and formatting, then moves on to the detail of what to include in a client report.

At the end of the afternoon, there is a question and answer session.

Note: The guidance provided meets the current requirements for submission to professional bodies such as AGRA.

Cost: Payment required - £20.00; discounted for Members of Society of Genealogists £16.00
